This portion of our web site is to help the electronics manufacturing community gain some insight into the challenges unique to the manufacture of space flight hardware.

We feel that providing the "why's" and "how's" that go into workmanship or process requirements will provide a better understanding of the intent of our standards and how to implement them effectively. In addition, we will be making regular additions that will include recommended techniques for many procedures used regularly on space flight hardware.

While these recommendations or techniques are not to be interpreted as the "required" or "the only NASA recognized procedure" to perform these tasks, they can be used with confidence that the reliability of the hardware will not be compromised.
